Varalakshmi Vratham is a sacred Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of wealth, prosperity, and well-being. Observed primarily by married women, this auspicious day falls on the Friday before the full moon (Purnima) in the month of Shravana (July-August). Devotees believe that worshipping Goddess Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshipping all the eight forms of Lakshmi - known as Ashta Lakshmi - who represent various kinds of wealth and fortune.

Women perform the vratham with great devotion, waking up early to clean and decorate their homes, draw rangoli (muggulu), and prepare a kalasham (sacred pot) symbolizing the Goddess. They adorn it with turmeric, kumkum, flowers, and a saree, and offer traditional sweets, fruits, and prasadam during the puja. The vratham includes tying a sacred yellow thread (charadu) on the wrist while praying for the well-being of their families.

This vibrant festival is not only a spiritual observance but also a beautiful celebration of faith, tradition, and feminine strength passed down through generations.
